Clara graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Masters in Speech Language Pathology in 2020, after having the privilege to study under Courtney at Building Blocks for 10 months of her clinical graduate work. She previously earned a Bachelors in Elementary Education and has 9 years of teaching experience. Clara has worked with children of all ages with a wide a variety of needs and is familiar with articulation/phonology, expressive and receptive language, AAC, Apraxia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, cognitive, physical, and emotional impairment, myofunctional therapy, learning disabilities/school needs, feeding, and early childhood development. Clara is passionate about focusing on the whole child and sees communication and relationships as the most important aspects of a child’s life.
In her spare time, Clara enjoys hiking, watching movies, visiting new places, and exploring outside with her two boys and husband. Her family loves animals and has a house full of pets- a dog (Peanut), chameleon (Carl), frog (Archie), and countless fish. She also loves to read, participate in (and sometimes teach) dance fitness classes, learn new things, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
Clara looks forward to continuing to study pediatric feeding, techniques for treating Apraxia, and other speech and language topics geared toward providing the best care for her clients.
