Courtney graduated from Michigan State University with a Masters in Communicative Sciences and Disorders in 2010. Courtney has studied or been trained in orofacial myofunctional therapy through the IAOM, tethered oral tissues, Beckman Oral Motor, SOS Approach to Feeding, Fed the Peds, SOFFI, Lindamood-Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing, Kaufman technique, PODD . She has studied many methods for articulation, apraxia, autism spectrum disorders, stuttering, feeding, cognition, written expression, expressive and receptive language, auditory processing, learning disabilities and dyslexia. Courtney is the recipient of 5 ACE awards through the American Speech Language Hearing Association and Outstanding Preceptor Award by the Midwest Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research Center through Grand Valley State University.
Her varied work experience includes working in the public schools, working/living with children at a camp for children with physical disabilities, and working in an outpatient clinic setting with pediatrics. Courtney believes in looking at the whole child and how they are able to communicate and navigate the world around them. When not working with children, Courtney is very active in the local mountain biking community and empowering others to go beyond their comfort zone.
Courtney plans to continue her education and research in orofacial myofunctional therapy and tethered oral tissues. She is registered with the American Speech and Hearing Association, Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed by the State of Michigan.
ALLIE KOSHEN MA, CCC- SLP
LEAD SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

This lead speech therapist doesn’t just unlock the mysteries of language; she does it with a steaming cup of coffee in hand, turning every speech session into a delightful caffeine-infused adventure.
Allie graduated from Central Michigan University in 2019 with a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. She has previous experience working with expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation disorders, fluency, feeding, dyslexia, written expression disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).
Allie has previously worked at a private practice in Alabama working with pediatric clients. She also completed an internship at Wyoming Public Schools working with students in kindergarten through fifth grade and working with students in an emotionally impaired classroom setting.
Allie has recently continued her education with training related to Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as myofunctional therapy and oral-tethered tissues. Allie also has a passion for supervising speech pathology graduate students from local universities and developing their clinical skills.
Allie enjoys running and going on hikes with her husband and her dog, Zoe. She enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends. Allie is passionate about helping kids and their families meet their goals and learn how to communicate functionally and as a team.
Allie is also registered with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is a member of the Michigan Speech Language and Hearing Association. Allie is licensed in the state of Michigan.
LYNSEY NORTH
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

She navigates the currents of communication with a keyboard for scheduling, an eye for organization and a compass for coordination, she knows that even the mightiest of tasks can be conquered with a sprinkle of creativity, copious amounts of laughter, and most importantly teamwork.
Lynsey graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Her extensive experience in various medical office settings has equipped her with a vast understanding of administrative processes and insurance intricacies. Her true passion lies in speech therapy services, where she thrives in helping families navigate the complexities of insurance rules and regulations. With a deep-seated commitment to assisting others, Lynsey finds genuine fulfillment in triaging client phone calls, particularly when it comes to addressing language and speech needs in her community. Her commitment to staying up-to-date with industry advancements ensures that she provides the most accurate and relevant information to those in need.
Outside of her professional endeavors, you’ll often find Lynsey exploring the local mountain bike trails or enjoying camping trips with her family. Her passion for giving back to the community drives her to actively engage in facilitating stronger bonds between speech therapists and families seeking guidance in communication matters. She looks forward to fostering these connections and making a positive impact in her local community.
MALLORY GROENEVELT, MA CCC-SLP

She scales the peaks of vocabulary, traverses the valleys of anecdotes, and fords the rivers of dialogue, and leads you along a path lined with patient pauses, thoughtful insights and meaningful learning.
Mallory Groenevelt, M.A., CCC-SLP is a licensed speech-language pathologist with a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Central Michigan University (2019). She specializes in treating expressive and receptive language disorders, auditory processing disorder, childhood apraxia of speech, articulation and fluency disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
Mallory has extensive experience providing early intervention services, having worked in Michigan’s Early On program to support infants and toddlers (ages 2–3) with developmental delays or disabilities. She collaborated closely with families to coach them on communication milestones and strategies to improve language development. Additionally, she provided speech therapy services to early childhood special education programs, treating fluency, literacy, speech-sound disorders, and social language skills within preschool and school-based settings.
In private practice, Mallory has worked with children on the autism spectrum, integrating speech-language services with Occupational Therapy and Applied Behavior Analysis. She has advanced training in treating oral dysfunction and pediatric feeding disorders, including infant feeding and breastfeeding support using a sensory-based approach. She is trained in tethered oral tissues, the Beckman Oral Motor approach, and the SOS Approach to Feeding. She continues to expand her expertise in orofacial myofunctional therapy through TalkTools and is PROMPT trained.
Passionate about evidence-based and individualized care, Mallory is dedicated to helping children and families develop meaningful communication skills. She strongly advocates for early intervention and functional therapy that supports each child’s unique needs. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, and being with her husband and dog. She is registered with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in the state of Michigan.
KATELYN HUIZENGA MA, CCC-SLP

She turns articulation practice into a joyful journey filled with laughter, curiosity, and confidence. With every silly sound and shared smile, she helps little voices grow strong and clear—one giggle at a time.
Katie graduated from Calvin University with a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology in 2024. She has experience working with articulation disorders, receptive-expressive language disorders, brain injuries, augmentative alternative communication (AAC), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), adult voice and resonance therapy, and dysphagia.<br><br>Katie has experience completing clinical rotations and internships in local schools as well as outpatient rehabilitation facilities and a pediatric clinic. She enjoys building relationships with her patients and their families to provide the best possible therapy for them. She enjoys being an advocate for their needs. She plans to continue her education in speech-language pathology by continuing to study new approaches for pediatric feeding, orofacial myofunctional therapy, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), and gestalt language processing (GLP).<br><br>Katie enjoys walking her dogs, hanging out with friends and family, learning to bake new things, and traveling. You will see Katie in the clinic part time as she also provides services at a local school. She is registered with the American Speech and Hearing Association and licensed by the State of Michigan.
CAROLYN MILLER MA, CF- SLP

She lights the way through play and connection, helping little voices grow into confident communicators–one sound, one word, one conversation at a time.
Carolyn graduated from Western Michigan University in 2025 with a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. She has experience working with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), receptive-expressive language, articulation disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Carolyn has previous clinical experience working in elementary schools and outpatient clinics. She is passionate about individualizing therapy materials to best support each person’s needs and interests and meeting them where they are at. She plans to continue her education in speech-language pathology by studying gestalt language processing, AAC, and early intervention.
When Carolyn is not working, she enjoys playing with her cat, spending time with friends and family, doing puzzles, and reading. She is an advocate for supporting communication needs and building relationships with her clients and caregivers.
KATHERINE VAN OEVEREN, MS CCC-SLP

This intrepid adventurer doesn’t just converse; she embarks on linguistic expeditions, uncovering new realms of communication with every sentence.
Katie Van Oeveren graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology in 2017. She has experience with orofacial myofunctional therapy, tethered oral tissues, expressive and receptive language disorders, stuttering, articulation, Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Katie is a two-time recipient of ASHA’s ACE award for her continuing education specifically in the areas of oral function. Katie has studied and been trained in orofacial myofunctional therapy through the IAOM, tethered oral tissues, and PROMPT. She is currently training in the Barton Reading and Spelling System. Katie has previous work experience in charter schools working with students with a variety of disorders from kindergarten-12th grade. She also completed an internship in a center-based school working with severely nonverbal autistic students, severely cognitively impaired students, and severely multiply impaired students. During her internship, she was able to gain valuable experience in using AAC devices and the picture exchange communication system (PECS). Katie has also gained experience in working with older adults in skilled nursing facilities. She enjoys reading, walking, bike riding, traveling, watching movies, attending plays and musicals, and spending time with friends and family. Katie is very passionate about helping children communicate and improving their speech, literacy, and language skills.
Katie will continue to study many other topics in the field of speech-language pathology such as early intervention and pediatric feeding. She is registered with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed in the state of Michigan.
LAURYN WATERSON, MA CCC-SLP

Like a gentle breeze on a quiet morning or the soothing hum of a distant waterfall, she is your trusty companion on the journey to pronunciation perfection.
Lauryn graduated from Calvin College in 2020 with a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. She has experience with receptive/expressive language disorders, speech sound disorders, early language intervention, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Lauryn has completed continuing education in the areas of myofunctional intervention/tethered oral tissues as well as Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) for Gestalt Language Processors (GLP).
Lauryn’s previous work experiences include pediatric outpatient therapy, home/community based early intervention, and school-based services for students with cognitive impairment and/or ASD. Lauryn is passionate about improving functional communication skills through play-based and patient-centered interventions. In her free time she enjoys reading, outdoor activities, trying new recipes, and spending time with her husband and daughters.
Lauryn continues to be interested in expanding her clinical knowledge in several areas including pediatric feeding/myofunctional therapy, early intervention, AAC, and gestalt language processing. She is licensed by the State of Michigan and registered with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
SIDNEY WYN, MS CCC-SLP

A language lover who brings the warmth of a good cup of coffee and the serenity of the great outdoors into every conversation.
Sidney graduated from GVSU with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in 2023. She has experience working with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), receptive-expressive language disorders, social communication (pragmatics), early language learners, augmentative alternative communication (AAC), articulation disorders, adult voice and resonance therapy, and dysphagia.
Sidney has completed clinical rotations and internships in multiple local elementary schools, a skilled nursing facility, a pediatric private practice, and adult home health as a part of Holland Home. These clinical experiences provided a deeper understanding of speech, language, and medical needs across the lifespan. Sidney enjoys building deep connections with her patients and their caregivers and serve as an advocate for their holistic needs. Sidney currently works at Building Blocks in the clinic and several days a week at a local charter school. She is registered with the American Speech and Hearing Association and licensed by the State of Michigan.<br><br>In her personal life, Sidney enjoys spending time with her husband, camping, hiking, game nights with friends, and trying new restaurants in Grand Rapids. She plans to continue her education in speech-language pathology by studying pediatric feeding, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), and auditory processing disorders.
ASHLEY WATSON MS, OTR/L
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Her mission is to explore how little bodies experience the world. By helping children navigate sights, sounds, textures, and movement she turns everyday activities into opportunities for growth one wiggle and “aha!” moment at a time.
Ashley graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2021 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She has experience supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and developmental delays. Ashley supports clients in growing their sensory processing, fine motor, visual motor, and gross motor coordination skills to facilitate independence in valued and meaningful activities.
Ashley has previous clinical experience providing occupational therapy services in elementary schools, daycares, and outpatient clinics. She is passionate about providing neurodiversity-affirming care and walking alongside caregivers and clients on their therapy journey. Ashley has achieved certification in DIR Floortime and continues to seek educational opportunities in neurodiversity-affirming care and cultural competencies to best support diverse clients and families.
When Ashley is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring local events and activities, crafting, and baking. Ashley is licensed by the State of Michigan and registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
MARLENE GALLUP

Marlene is a part-time clinic assistant. She is also responsible for developing, designing, and maintaining the website. She has a masters degree in Business Administration and has also studied Full-stack Web Development. In her spare time, she enjoys visiting with friends, taking walks on the beach, riding her bike, and hanging out with her cats (Izzy and Wrangler) and granddog (Stanley).
